Bezoek buiten het Binnenhof

Visit outside the Binnenhof

The entire renovation of the Binnenhof will be completed at the same time. During the works, the building complex will therefore not be accessible to the public. Fortunately, the 'occupants' and visitors of the Binnenhof can access other places in the surroundings.

Temporary accommodation for 'occupants'

Due to the renovation, the users of the Binnenhof will move to other locations. All members of the Senate and House of Representatives, the Prime Minister and civil servants will move to another workplace in The Hague during the renovation.

During the renovation of the Binnenhof, The Hague Historical Museum will be presenting the exhibition 'Power'. The story of the most symbolic location in the Netherlands. But also about neglected buildings, squabbling about privileges and the everydayness of the powerful people who lived here.

Plein 29

The Mauritshuis is right next to the Binnenhof, beside the famous Torentje where the Prime Minister has his office. Spectacle on the Hofvijver lake

Classical concerts, the Beach Volleyball World Championships, The Passion. Events are regularly organised on the Hofvijver lake. And that was the same hundreds of years ago. To mark military victories, for example, the lake was the venue for firework displays. On the water, entire sea battles could be simulated too. As you can see here after a victory over France and Spain at Vigo, in 1702.
